Hi I have a 300 gallon tank with sa/ca cichlid. That came along with three 20gal sumps. If I was to run just the fluvql fx5 along with 2 Rio 2100 and a uv filter would that be enough filteration or would I have to hook up my Sumps also.

Calculate the flow rate of all your pumps and filters added up. The FX5 is 600gph with no head.
Divide that by the number of gallons of water you are trying to filter.
The number needs to be 5-8 (ish) depending on your stocking. Lightly stocked tanks are fine 5-6, heavily stocked tanks or tanks with poop factories in them (oscars, plecos, goldfish and pacu) need 8 or more.

300 gallon= 2x FX5. i run an Fx5 and and XP3 plus a 1150 koralia Evo on my 150 but it is heavily stocked.....no serious pigs in there though!
