So I am going to order a new filter tonight....or if I get persueded maybe in a few days ..I have had many fluval FX6/FX5 No problems with them AT ALL. However I have been debating on trying an Eheim of the same caliber. I NEVER owned an eheim before...I have owned an aquatop and a jebo. I have heard great things from eheim but also more bad things....what even is the Eheim equivalent of the FX6? I have no idea...they have so many numbers it confuses me. I am guessing it's the pro 3 1200?? Seems pretty outdated though....not sure....let me know all about eheim if you can I want to hear it from the hobbyist perspective not the company who is obviously trying to sell a product....if it helps in any way the filter will be for a 240 gallon dovii tank heavily fed and heavy water changes.

You always hear more bad then good so take it all with a grain of salt. Alot of it will be operator error. Ehime is a good name brand from what I hear a 2262 are very good and same size as fx6 or very close. That'd what I would look at. Personally I'm a sump guy and will never do a canister again

There is a fx5 vs 2262 thread. 2262 is a bio powerhouse but fx5 is better for mechanical. I've owned a fx5 and replaced it with 3 ac110s on my 180. I would either go 2262 or sump next.

Sump fan too but had both fx6 and 2262....2262 hands down bests the fx6 much more room for bio, and moved more water, i knw they are both rated similar gph but in reality the fx6 was kind of weak. Get poret foam sheets cut them to fit and your good to go
