i just have one of these filters laying around the house. i found it today still in good condition. i want to know how often the cartridges have to be replaced and how expensive it would be to run.

I have a G6 and honestly it's a overpriced junk filter. After 9 months of use my impeller was blown and it does not work no more. I tried cleaning it multiple times and replaced the small impeller washer and no luck with it running again. It costs $50 just for the impeller replacement. Also my lcd display screen got condensation in it and sometimes the screen does not come on. I didn't bother fixing it and I can't get warranty on it cuz I purchased it second hand and i don't have the receipt. Also the impeller is not covered under warranty. If u do a google search on the G series there are a few others who ran into similar problems with it and on them replacing multiple parts few times a year. I heard they are discontinuing it soon but could be a rumor.

I have a G3 that works great. I've only had it, since last December though. I just clean the mechanical filter once a month. No complaints so far.
