Ive been looking into possibly getting a g6, now by the time its all said and done its gonna cost around $700.... is it really worth it? could someone who has one maybe post a review?
thanks

Don't have one, but from what i've seen it's got some tech stuff and maintance is quick and easy. If you want to pay for that then sure, but if you don't want to buy cartridges and don't need digital read outs then you could save some money and buy something like an FX5 or for even cheaper build a sump.

complete waste of money. it's just for the "cool" factor. the LCD doesnt give you any useful info. just meant for the guy that wants all the high tech stuff to show off. get a real filter instead

Yep...

thats what i figured... I think Ill stick with my fx5's
thanks

I have a G6 and an Fx5 on my 215 and I like the G6 it helps keep track off fluctuations in the tank and even tells the waste output of my fish

The only type of filtration that I trust is a filter that you can get a large biuld-up of bacteria with no chemical filtration. That's why I just love my FX5, all sponge and biomax rings with a TON of bacteria in there.
