That's not entirely true. If you were to spend a little time checking the product review and the manufactures instruction you would see that most people have a canister last 1.5-3 months (if installed with rate of bubbles of 1-2 per second for 8-10 hours a day) which in reality your tank doesn't need to have co2 being pumped into it for that long. Even 6 hours would suffice. I own this system on my 5 gal. And the only complaint that I have is that the reactor sucks. That's why I bought a mini glass one.

And with deals like this all the time online that means you can have co2 for upwards of 5+ months for $40. I'd say that's not bad at all
