hi guys! so this is my question: is it okay to put fluval stratum substrate on my flowerhorn tank? hoping for your fast reply guys, thank you Godbless :)

Yes. Monitor pH.

I would say is it safe, yes...

But due to the nutrients in the soil, you may need to find a way to use them up or may possibly find algae problems...

So unless you are putting plants in, not sure why you want to use soil instead of something more inert like sand or something???

I just want it for design. if I will not put plants in it, does it cause algae problems?

Im just saying there is a chance it may cause algae due to the fact there are nutrients in the soil which if not removed with enough / large enough water changes might cause problems down the line...

But as im sure you know, algae is caused by many factors, so if your tanks are prone to algae as it is, then said algae may really enjoy the extra nutirents provided from the soil...
