I have a Fluval U3 and it says on the manual i should replace 1 Poly/Carbon cartridge every 2 weeks. Replace Alternate Foam Pads every 3-6 months. Replace 1/2 quantity of BIOMAX nodes every 5-6 months.
Do i really need to change it that often or can i clean the media to make it last longer ? Also, should i use the same type of media made for the Fluval U3 or are there other, more affordable solutions ?
