Flying arowana!?

I was just curious if anyone else had an arowana that liked to fly. My old arowana use to jump out of the tanka at my face every time i opened the tops. I was hit in the face twice and many more times he went a good 10ft out of the tank. Anyone else experianced this? I swear he just wanted to punch me in the face haha.

maybe the water aint that good? IMO arowanas want to escape when they don't feel comfortable or even hungry.

mine does it everyday when i feed him basically half his body is out of the water with his mouth wide open like a dolphin jumping... its not even full grown its at like 16inches or so

my arowanas can fly. i found them crispy in the morning.

Thanks guys just wondering if anyone else had this happen. I dont think he didnt like his tank he just spooked so easy. I swear i almost had a black eye once.

Whats the best Items (Sand in a Sock) to keep the lids from opening with them jumping?

Ill be getting an Aro soon for my 225 and wanted to know whats a Easy and Cheap way to keep those lids closed through the day and night when im not home...

heavy glass always works. If you can find a mom pop glass shop i got some really nice heavy glass peices made perfect for my tank for like 60 bucks. Was well worth it.

During a storm, mine abandoned ship. I found him crispy and stuck to the floor the next morning. He got thru a 2 inch gap.
