Too sum up the article there are five different breeds of flying (gliding) snakes in SE and South Asia. Biologist from Virgina Tech used four cameras to record one jumping from a 15 meter tower to observe just how they do so as it is quite peculiar to think of a snake coming at you from the sky. Imaging walking through the woods and instead of a snaking popping up from the ground with a little noise, it comes at you completely silent from the sky and drops down on you.

Dang, I didn't think they got that much distance.

The most epic thing ever would be a flying snake and flying squirrel fighting in the sky. Eventually the snake wins though.

Haha awesome thought.

I know right? A little shy of double the distance it jumped from is impressive. Especially for an animal whose body shape looks like it wouldn't produce enough drag for that.

wow that was neat to see..
