i was wondering if in order for a FM and a con to cross if the FM had to be male and the con female or the firemouth female and the con male. thanks

doesn't matter on the sexes, and these are called fire-cons. i wouldn't use a convict father tho.

im doing the same exact thing but waiting for the female con to grow.

i have a male FM like 2.5 inches and thinkin of gettin a female con, if they breed cool if not then cool. i just dont want a male con he would kill or beat everything during breeding.lol. thanks

a FM male will be quite agro during breeding too. don't underestimate these guys either.
