I plan on putting some foam under a 750g acrylic. I have a few questions...

1) What type of foam? I was looking at excersize mats or styro from Lowes or home depot.

2) Can I glue it to the top of the stand? This will make sliding the tank a little easier.

Thanks

I would look at home depot for the thicker 3/4 foam maybe thicker with a 750.
And yeah I guess you could glue it to the top of the stand. Cant say I have seen it done but sounds like a good idea.

Acrylic tank manufacturers recommend a layer of foam between the plywood top of the stand, not another layer of plywood. ;) The foam is to remove pressure points.

So it goes stand, plywood, foam, acrylic tank?

I started a thread about this and never did get a straight answer....

3/4 should be plenty. 1/2" is probably all you need. It will just eliminate small obstructions that would cause problems.

What about gluing it to the top of the stand like he asked about? Im curious its a good idea.
