I plan on putting 3/4" pink foam under my 150g perfecto tank. Can anyone tell me how much the foam will compress? Or. how much higher off the plywood will the tank be with foam than without?

Thanks

I used that foam under my 240 and it hardly compressed at all. Maybe 1/4 inch.

I assume using foam helps when it comes to providing a even and level surface...??? or is ther another reason why people use it....???

I have 1" styrafoam under my 240 and it hasnt compressed at all. The weight is dispersed over the such a large area that it doesnt affect the foam hardly at all.

jdepasqu2 yes you are correct, it helps take out the irregularities in the stand, lessening the chances of your tank cracking.

it really depends on the stand
if the tank sits on a sheet of plywood then it wont compress much at all
thats only like 1lb per sq inch
if the tank sit on a rim then more pressure more compression

Thanks. I was assuming it would be heavily compressed; good thing I asked.
