Any ideas why my koi pond would be Very "Foamy"?
Approx 1,000-1,200 gallons
2 Large Butterfly Koi
1 Medium Butterfly Koi
1 Large Shubunkin
Many rosy red mosquito fish

No.
This morning the pump had stopped working. Few minutes later it started working again. When my husband opened the skimmer box he saw shredded pieces of something that was once alive that must have gotten sucked into the pump.
The pond did need water added so I added the water and allowed it to overflow for a while. The foam is now almost the entire surface.

In that case, it is likely just a collection of protein at surface, I would be a water change and it should clear

Check your water parameters but if you fish aren't in distress, I would wait a day and do another water change then.

I'm not sure, but don't think so. Have Never had any babies. Have had these in this established pond for several years.

It is raining medium to hard this morning and it does seem to be clearing.

Several ponds in San Diego are foamy this time of year. I'm thinking the change in weather (warmer) is waking up the pond life. Sort of like a mini cycle. Algae is starting to grow.
Joe may be correct about spawning too. It is approaching Spring.
