So over the few months I've owned my Lapradei, it's eaten more fish than my Gulper Cat has. W t h! I understand they can be predatory but it's like this guy is training for the Nathans Hot-dog eating contest with all the feeding he's doing. I would think I'm over feeding him compared to what I've heard other feed. But I feed a few lancer-fish/silver-sides every few days. How is this not curbing the appetite.

His death toll:

1 red wofl fish
1 electric blue ram
1 jd
1 rainbow cichlid
2 cories
12 congo tetras

Is this remotely normal? I know my Geo's aren't eating these fish lol.

Damn nice fancy meal with the red wolf. It's not normal for lap to eat tank mates. I feed them daily so they don't get the urge

Silversides every few days isn't enough, if I don't feed mine daily they begin to swim around biting at each other. What size was the wolf and jd when you tried them as tank mates?

Everything else I would consider incompatible with the larger growing bichirs.

My lap is the most timid of all my bichirs... I doubt she would even take feeders.

I guess I will need to just feed him more. My Lap is around 8", maybe 1" in dia., nothing to bulky Everything he's eaten was in the 2, 2.5" range. Except the wolf fish, that was 3.5" or so and he didn't consume it, just tried his damn best too. All I ever heard was so easy going laps were overall, seems mines the odd ball.

I have a Koliba about 8-9" that is in a tank by himself, learning that the only thing to eat is pellets. Gobbles 4-5 massivore everyday. I plan on putting him in with fish in another week or so. He was brutal on feeders when I got him. He can eat a whole shrimp, so I know he can eat a couple of the clown loaches I have. Need to drain and catch those guys...........
