could a frontosa go in a 55 with a pike with no probs.heres a pic of my pike.

Picture 148.jpg

maybe a bit tight with rock work.

frontosa like lots of rock work to hide in. if you do so, your tank may be a little cramped. plus your pike will frow much quicker than the frontosa and probably eventually eat the frontosa. i say dont. if you really want frontosa, do a new tank

Honestly, I would say no, that pike in the picture should not be in a 55 gallon tank. It looks like a Sp. Venezula, these pikes get 18 to 24 inches long. 55s are only 12 inches deep. Frontosa's also get larger then 12 inches over time.

This is on top of the difference in aggression. But usually the pike will not bully a tank mate, but believe, it will not back down and can do damage if provoked. Anyway, I would say no due to the species of pike pictured. You definitely will need to upgrade tanks with that big boy.

right, tank too small...

Fronts should be kept in a colony ..that is the way they do best..occasionally you can keep one or two okay with other africans etc, but a pike and a front is not a good mix..fronts are very shy and slow moving.. pikes are fast and aggressive..in my opinion not a good match.

NIce pike you have....

It's not a good idea for reasons previously mentioned.
