What do yo care?!
Hi everyone,

My food is runing out very fast.
I've 3 aquriums and just starting do look for food to my fish.
This time I was searching on ebay (USA and UK) and saw that fish food by weight is more cheaper than in my LFS.
I know that ebay sellers and etc. are pay fees on sales so how they can sell this low than my LFS?

It is good that the food comes to my door!

The food that I was looking was Tetra bits.
I the near future I'll need to by also Pro colour and some JBL to my catfish.

Did you buy from ebay?

Thank you all!

I recently did. 2.2 lbs. of Hikari Sinking Carnivore Pellets for $68 including priority shipping. I save more by buying in bulk.

I don't live in USA so you prices are good but due to shippments costs it's more expansive for me.
Just bought on ebay 250g of tetra discus in good price and with shipp costs more cheaper than here.

Ebay is cheaper than your LFS because ebay users dont pay for overheads like electricity or rent for their store...

Typically, a LFS will mark up 100% or more of the cost they paid for the item.
Ex...LFS buys a tin of fish food for $5, they sell it to you for $10
And that's the minimum they are marking up. A lot of times, it's more than a 100% mark up. This is so they can pay rent, utilities, employees, etc... They just have to mark up that much to keep the store open and running.

A guy on ebay just pays a very small ebay fee. So if he buys a bunch of fish food in bulk, and makes just a few percent over the cost, he's still making money. There's no overhead at all other than a miniscule ebay/paypal fee.
Ex...Seller buys food for $5 and sells it for $7. He pays lets say a 7% ebay + paypal fee. That's $0.49, and he makes $1.51. He's still making money because he doesn't have to pay rent, electricity, employees, etc...

I do buy my food online. I can get 5 pounds of NLS thera-a for $60 online. It's $20 for 0.6 pounds in my LFS.....That's the equivelent of $166 for 5 pounds. So I buy in bulk online. I really don't buy anything other than fish in an LFS. Or, I use a LFS when I run out of something and I need something immediately and can't wait for shipping.

Just let you know about this guy how selling Tetra food.
I sent him PM over Ebay to know about other food of tetra and he says that is thinking to open store.

At last there are Tetra food in eBay.com.

Have fun!
