I recently was able to purchase a 24" Chinese high fin loach for my outdoor pond. With weather getting warmer I need to feed him better does not seem to be enough natural food what would they eat at this size so I can put some weight back on? also have smaller ones 12". Also have koi in there so they tend to eat any pellets fast before he can get to them.

are you looking for specific type natives to feed it? you might do better if you don't post this in the Temperate and North American Native Fish forum.

High fins ARE a cold water fish you know.
Op, koi pellets work fine IME. Just get the food in front of him during feeding. Chopped greens works to.

pics??

I will try get some but pond is 6 feet deep, he came out of one of my wholesalers ponds in Fla, they drained it to clean it and he was in there.

Mine is 5 feet deep and I can even make pics with a crappy cellphone cam :D no excuses sir I wanna see that beast!

Mine eats all kind of sinking food like Hikari Cichlid Gold, Algae Waffers, cut market shrimp.
