Food for cichlid

ok so in my tank i have a two texas cichlid and one 5 spot cichlid and two pictus catfish and 4 counterfeit silver dollars. Ok is the best staple pellets or flakes because none of my fish but the pictus catfish really eat the pellets. I feed them Hikari Cichlid Gold. So is there an alterative to feed them when i feed then the pellets the show no interest at all .

Pellets are much better than flakes. You just need to experiment with different kinds of pellets to see what they like. One pellet that all my fish seem to like, although I do not use it as a staple, is HBH supersoft krill (I wish they were bigger though.)

i was reading here on MFK i believe, that flakes lose alot of their nutrition when they hit the water, due to being absorbed out i believe.

dont feed the fish anything but pellets for a week or so, and they will get the hint. a healthy set of fish should be able to go longer than a week without food, but its most likely not a good idea.

i am not feeding them anything but pellets and they are fingey eaters
