Does anyone have suggestions about different foods (commercial or otherwise) that I could use to improve color in my fish. I have a group of small RBP's and I'd love to see them color up a bit. Thanks...

I saw a post where somone described gut-loading feeder minnows with aro sticks and discus color flakes. The color-enhancing ingredients should benefit the Ps coloration by this method just fine.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT GUT-LOADING FEEDER FISH, BUT I DO KNOW THAT KRILL IS REALLY GOOD FOR COLOR. (SOMEONE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG) A GOOD MIXTURE OF FOODS WILL HELP(TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM FEEDING ALOT OF GOLDFISH/ROSY REDS) , ALSO PLENTY OF ROOM, AND CLEAN WATER.

I will have to second the krill.............it's what makes flamingos turn that pink color......stress is a majr factor in the color issue as well.....so less stress = brighter fish:D

Gotcha. Yep, krill is good for color enhancement due to containing astaxanthin. Now, please quit shouting. (CAPS= yelling)

Depends on what color you want to enhance....

blue/green's....feed heavy spirulina products.
red's.....feed heavy astaxanthin products.
yellows...feed a home made mix with carophyll yellow mixed in.
super red...home made mix with carophyll pink.
super blue....Meth Testosterone.

The last one is the only one I highly recommend NOT using.

HAPPY FISH KEEPING!:headbang2 :woot:

Bloodworms, krill, and Omega One makes some good color foods with salmon skins for pigment.
