I was wondering what it the best type of food to give my feeders, so my predator fish will get the best nutrients?
Also would it be better to buy minnows at a bait shop rather than a pet store to feed?
Thanks in advance!!

You should setup 2 tanks: 1 for new arrival and being QT, 1 for QT'ed and ready for your monster. I always feed my feeders with HQ food and gut loaded them right before you give them to your monster.

*Optional method:

Setup a 20G tank to breed Rosy Red, they are easy to breed and it always safer than get them from any stores.

Yea I have one 55g set up for QT! I was wondering if bait store would have less chance for disease! I currently feed rosey's as the main feeders!!
Thanks for the info!!

Bait stores are easily as contaminated as pet store minnows. I have found it extremely easy to treat however.

If you are seriously concerned, I would suggest a minnowfarm & Golden shiner minnows. Uber easy to breed and raise.

A 100G Rubbermaid stock tank will run you < $70 at TSC and could easily keep parasite free feeders available for your monsters for life.

I have better luck with baitshop minnows vs. pet store roseys. But as mentioned they both need QT'd.
