alright so i cant seem to find brine shrimp eggs anywhere. and my Geo. Steindachneri fry are reaching two weeks old and their yoke saks are disappearing very quickly. i wanted to know what you guys feed your fry besides brine shrimp. i picked up some Hikari First bites but not sure how well this product will work. any feedback will help me a lot. thanks.

I use the first bits for a little while until they get some size. They also will eat algae, slim coat and fins of the parents. They also feed off the mess from the parents. I will crush up pellets also once there in there own tank.

Great avatar btw. Anyway I feed my convict fry Hikari First Bites. The package says to feed them 4X a day, but their with their parents, so I usually feed them once a day. I take a small cup, fill it with tank water, put some first bites in. Let it settle for a good 5 minutes, then use a turkey baster and suck it out and spit it right on top of them (target feeding). I think it works great.

I don't care for First Bites, a waste of my money and food. You may want to turn off any filter as the tiny powder will become part of all the water and gets lost IMO. I've always just crush my own Hikari Bio Gold + and feed them mostly to the parents. They will take the pellets where the frys are and crunchem over the frys. Breaking down the pellets just makes it easier for the food to fly outta the parents gills.

I always rock the crushed up nls grow. Mix it in water and us a syringe to inject it on top of the fry. I also used first bites, fish seem to like the nls grow better ime
