  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
biggest boost to growth in mine was more pellets, i used assorted ones, goldfish/koi, and some cichlid pellets. but the key to most fish growth besides diet is good water changes. mine get about 50% a week at least, they are living with my TSN, AUL and T gar so the more the merrier with those messy buggers.

varied diet is the best but imo water changes are the key to rapid growth...

i feed mine aswell as my other fish cichlid pellets (floating and sinking) small krill or frozen cubes with krill and some other veg stuff. or bloodworms. they've ate shrimp to

Mine eat or attempt to eat anything placed in the tank, my larger red hook 5-6" just ate an earthworm, the smaller red variety from Wally World..Feed a lot of variety through out the day and change water more....good luck and let's see some pics

Mine eat all kinds of pellets, but I try to give them Hikari Cichlid Excel mostly because of the veggie content in them. Nice congo's btw ;)

I have 4 redhooks that are 9 years old now.

when they were younger, they lived on cichlid pellets, tetra colour bits and plant trimmings (and boiled lettuce).

Now, they mainly eat tetra floating cichlid sticks, tetra colour bits and wardely's shrimp pellets.

a high protein pellet or floating stick is a good way to get them to grow fast:
