Hi...

I have 5 small Polypterus endlicheri on the way an wonder about what I should feed them. They are aprox. 3" size.

Any advise ?

I have Tropicals Carnivores sinking pellets, (Could brake them in smaller bits) blodworms, ordernarry shrimps..

Hope to learn something in this tread

Cheers

Based onmy experience blood worms works best, also try feeding them small portions of fish fillets.

Cool :-)

Thanks guys

Ive raised small senegals before, and if you noticed my previous thread, i just picked up a 2.5" endi. The little endi is feeding well on bloodworms and small bits of shrimp pellets and massivore. In my experience, bloodworms are rarely turned down, and small bits of fleshy foods usually are accepted. I cant say that I have had many reject appropriate sized pellets though

Frozen bloodworms are the easiest. I used red wrigglers on mine as well as any sinking pellets and if you use frozen fish or shrimp be sure to cut it into manageable pieces cause they will bite more than they can chew. They will also eat most shrimps like ghost or red cherry if you have any to offer.

bloodworms, carnivore pellets, silversides, frozen krill

Thanks to all. I sounds like this will be easy and successful. I will drop a picture once I get them in home.

Wow i'm looking forward to keep Poly´s :)

Thanks again, very useful information

You can also feed your juvenile endlicher bichirs with fresh chicken heart, fresh anchovies or "Dilis" fish, fresh fish fillet or fresh prawns all cut into very small bite size pieces. It is better to give different food items rather than concentrate on just 1 type of food so your bichir will grow healthy and avoid vitamins or mineral deficiency.:)
