I just bought a thai silk and was wondering what would be best to feed him? I was told that ching mix is good, and grand sumo. Some of the food says it will bring out the red in the fish and etc. Will this hurt the color of my fish or help it? What do you all recommend? I want a good sized head but not rediculous.

shouldnt hurt the color id go with sumo, my friend distributes grand sumo and he did a test on some fries he imported feeding them all different types of pellets, the grand sumo came out the best, also had a gb on another forum and most of my friends have silks we all had ours for about 3weeks or so all of ours are around 2in and one of my friend who feeds his big red, his is about 4in, we all got ours at the same time, i feed my silk 3-4 times a day some times even more

I would agree with Camphilophus, most color enhancing foods contain high red pigment enhancers where a more staple type pellet may work to your advantage. They remind me of powder blue gourami. For the protien they need to assist in developing a Kok I would feed Blood worms and raw heart every other day.

ok...I bought some of that ching mix and one of the local fish stores said that the maxim really helps to bring out the pearling. I got the sp100 or whatever, it's rated at 55% protein so should be pretty good I hope. I still want some grand sumo if neone knows where I can get a good deal and gonna feed blood worms as well. Hopefull he'll grow up to be a big healthy looking monster!!

ok...I'm planning on bloodworms, ching mix, and some spirulina pellets. Which should I feed more of? Or feed all 3 equally?

pick a staple pellet (I use new life spectrum and omega one pellets as my main staple) and feed that to your fish daily along with what ever else you have.
