Feeder Fish
Hi there, I'm a self confessed fish geek and have always been drawn to the oddball side of things. The tank I have future plans for is a 400L heavily planted tank with lots of bogwood, currently it is home to a selection of fish I am very fond of, a 18 inch P. gibbiceps and good size polypterus Ornatipinus, a ctenompma acustriostre, some clown loach and a few dither filament barbs and a pair of snakeskin gourami. In the past I have had black ghost knifefish but my pride and joy was Clooney the Mbu puffer RIP :(

I know that I cannot house snakeheads with these fish and will be waitng for the tank to thin down a bit naturally. What I would like to ask you lovely folks is what colourful snakeheads would be suited to my 400L tank? Do I get a group of juveniles and wait for a pair to form? I'm in the Uk and have a very good LFS that can source a number of species.

many thanks manutius

Honestly, there are way too many snakeheads to name that would work in that tank. It's all on what you like for colors.
I'd recommend any of the dwarf species. You can look through the snakehead species list on MFK and then ask some follow up questions when you see something that you like.
