hi my male jag still hasnt eating,the only thing ive seen him eating is frozen bloodworm and just maybe 3 or 4 worms,ive tried earthworms,all sorts of pellets,i have 3 live guppies in with him now,crickets so im looking for something else if their is any thing else i could try,he was in a 250g and i moved him into a 150g,the water parameters are 100 percent,i have 3 4 inch jds that he just gives the odd chase,he stomach looks sunk,but he is very active and alert,so can anyone help,thanks

have you tried parasite meds. jungle parasite meds get a decent name, havent been able to get them here though. you can buy them from a US shop on ebay and he ships to the UK.

how long has he been without food?

hes being like that for around 10 days now,he was eating fine from where i got him from,and all the other fish are fine and eating,so i think its just a case of him just not eating

just don't fed him for 3 days. i'm sure he'll want to eat anything when you feed him on the 4th day. usaually works for picky fish i've owned, but sometimes takes a bit longer depending on the fish. don't be to worried. fish can survive a while without food

you said he's eating bloodworms...so he is eating. maybe not much....but he's eating. as has already been said, he's just being picky. It's a battle of wills. You can't lose a battle of wills to a fish. lol

Seriously though, just stop feeding for a few days or only drop in a few pellets per day and remove what he hasn't eaten after about 5 minutes. He will get the hint and eventually start eating what's available to him.

Once he's eating pellets on a regular basis, then you can start treating him every now and then with some bloodworms or earthworms.

thanks,there is only one guppy now out of 3,im not sure if the jds got them but when i was watching him he had a big crap,so my mind is eased a little,ill wait for 3 days so,thanks

you may need more than 3 days so be ready to go the distance with him.

use garlic guard to get a fish to eat! it does work..

i tried that smelly stuff,he didnt take notice at first,i left the last of 3 guppies in and its gone,as before im not sure if the jds had it,but i did see him doing a big crap,so im less stressed for the moment
