hello out there, i have had a few ideas on what my puffer is eating and how to try and increase the quality of it. i am currently feeding it frozen krill, crickets and snails. i have a 15 gal setup for breeding snails and it is going well i have baby mystery and malaysian trumpet snails all over my tank, just waiting until their big enough to feed to the puffer. my idea comes in the form of what to feed my snails and crickets to increase the nutrient and quality of food for my puffer. i am currently feeding my snails saki hikari goldfish food that i have in a pepper grinder, and cuttlebone that i have ground to a powder and add a pinch every other to every day. they seem to like it as very soon after i put it in they all will emerge to start dining. i am feeding my crickets hikari lionhead goldfish food witch i grind up with a pepper grinder ( both grinders are brand new cheapies). i was thinking of adding freeze fried plankton or something like that also. as for the snails i was wondering if there was a better way of getting the calcium to the snails than the ground cuttlebone, i have tried just leaving a piece in the tank but its hard to get a reading on how much is getting disolved into the water this way.
i have been doing this for about a week or 2 now and my puffer seems to get more excited for feeding times now, he goes after all food in his path much quicker to. it seems to be going good so far but i am still a little concerned that i might be feeding him something i shouldnt through this procedure. if anybody has any info or comments about this please let me know. also i will keep updating the condition of my gsp and any changes that might come up. thanks to all
