Hi guys,
I have 4 small Motoros with discs ranging from 5-6". They are eating frozen bloodworms and chopped up nightcrawlers.

I want to get them onto raw shrimp and squid if possible, and ultimately onto sinking dry sticks as well.

I have ground up shrimp and squid in a 1:1 ratio and flat pack frozen it, but the mixture floats for the most part. I have cut up squid tubes into small rings and cut the ring to kind of simulate a worm.

Any advice on how small the shrimp should be cut up or at what age they start to take shrimp and squid would be appreciated.

Also, what sinking dry foods are good?

Thank you.
Dave

I just cut into bite size pieces and drop in.... try starving the rays for a few days and only offer shrimps.... after on shrimps go for squid.... then starve for pellets.....

Get your rays on a good routine. Then one day take the chopped up nightcrawlers and mix them real good with equal sized chopped shrimp to get the smell (maybe let the 'mix' sit for a couple hours). Shouldnt take more then a few attempts to get them eating. Once they are taking the shrimp with out any problems try the same with the squid.

I did that just tonight and they ate the shrimp!!! I tossed a few small shrimp pieces in after that (no nightcrawler juice marinade) and they ate those as well. Looks like the key is getting it the right size. They have smaller mouths than I thought.

Hikari massivore are good sinking pellets.

I bought some Hikari carnivore pellets yesterday. I think they are the same except for their size. Correct me if I am wrong here. I will try these after I don't feed them for a day or two.

get there bellies really fat before you starve for pellets..... hikari makes some of the best pellets mine ate massivore and the were small.... sinking carnivor pellets are just as good....
