When ever i read about freshwater stingray food in says shrimp and cut fish. Do you use freshwater shrimp or the ones that u hav in like a shrimp cocktail or both? And cut fish wat kind of fish do u use? thanks

I buy raw un-peeled shrimp from the market (Wal-Mart carries them) and chop it up into pieces that are bite size for my ray. Yes, it's the same as the shrimp in a shrimp cocktail, just raw. My ray will not eat cooked shrimp.

The fish I feed are frozen silver sides, chopped up, but when the my ray gets a little bigger I'm going to try smelt.

regular market shrimp remove the shell and cut them up... i feed shrimp silversides/smelts and pellets working on squid cockles and clams

i use the cheap pelled frozen prawns from the supermarket

but pellets are better

mine will only eat blood worms and feeder fish (only given as a snack once in a while). i bought a bunch of fresh shrimp (uncooked) and rawfish, but they wont touch it. so if anyone wants a few pounds of shrimp, let me know!

try starving it out for a few days hungary rays eat pretty much anything

Ok cause i looked at freshwater shrimp prices $20 for a lbs and then i look at shrimp cocktail shrimp and there lik $6 a lbs and then im lik better ask thanks

That's wierd... my rays consider shrimp as their favourite food!
