what do you feed your polys, esp vs other tank mate??, (if this has been discussed gimme a link) and do you see any variance among sp.(epithet)?

Me myself, I feed:

Pet store bought: Sinking carnivore pellets, Algae tablets, Tetramin variety pellets, omega one shrimps pellets, Hbh Cichlid attack pellets
Frozen: Bloodworms, Beefheart, Ocean one marine, Brine shrimp, Mysis shrimp, Silverside, Krill(My Bichirs don't like it too much but the BGK does)
Raw: Shrimp, Hamburger(rarely) Anchovies,
Live: Ghost shrimp, earthworms

I feed 8 chopped up shrimps a day for 18 polys and sprinkle a few Tetramin flakes in there for my angels. Once the angels finished the flakes they go after the shrimps wildly. I feed blood worms as a treat for the angels once a month. Occassionally, I feed them carnivores or massivores pellets when I feel too lazy to chop up the shrimps.

I feed mainly a mix of Hikari cichlid gold and bio-gold along with f/d krill. All my fish eat the pellets but they prefer the krill. I've also been feeding the occasional market shrimp and cut fish which all my fish seem to like. I have some peaceful cichlids along with a senegal and a florida gar, and all my fish get their share of food.

Epithet? Did you mean appetite? If you did mean epithet, I don't understand your use of the word.

All my polypteriformes, which includes the ropefish, enjoy the same food. Mainly cichlid gold sinking, but I do offer cichlid gold floating for the cichlids and RTGG.

I offer pieces of shrimp a few times a week, and the cichlids to eat that as well, so I guess I don't really feed anything specifically for the bichirs because all of the fish in the tank will eat some.

Even chopped up earthworms are enjoyed by the cichlids. :)

I do see some variation in appetite among bichirs. My laps never seem to eat a lot, and will stop after only a few pieces.

HTH

I feed a variety of things, but the foods they enjoy most are market shrimp followed by frozen silversides.
