I have been wondering for some time now and would like to see some opinions on this but how do you all feel about the brand "Tetra" and their line of food for larger cichlids?

I use Hikari floating pellets, mixed frozen foods, and Tetra flakes or sticks.

I know Hikari is meant to be one of (if not the best) the best regarded brands here on MFK for our wet pets.

So where do brands like Tetra and Sera come in?

Cool, I was never sure how good Tetra products were... I know they are a big brand (and I remember them from being a kid and my mom's tank...) but just never was sure if they were a big commercial brand that was more money than quality.

I used Tetra Doromin floating sticks on my Oscars and they grew very quickly. Only problem i found with them was that it dirtied up my water very quickly and we all know oscars are dirty eaters.

I must be quite lucky with my two, they aren't too bad in terms of mess making...

The only time I've noticed them making a major mess is if I accidentally put too much food in the tank and they get greedy!

I find Hikari and NLS to be the best food imo?! I use Nutrafin Carnivore pellets and Tetra Dormin pellets too though? Hikari seem to be the best for not disintegrating when not eaten or spit out ha!!!

My dad feeds his ryukin and black moor TetraFin Gold Japan and he swears by it! Thats a great food for fancy goldfish!!!

I use Hia Feng its a bit costly but my CA got hooked on this and seems like they will go on strike if i tried to feed them Hikari. Aqueon makes a decent pellet but its not widely found in my area same as NLS.
