Anything that doesn't get out of it's way:)

IMO it's a good idea to vary the diet of any and all fishes. I usually provide a prepared pellet type food as the primary food source and make sure the fish also gets additional frozen and or alternative (different) food.

I prefer a cichlid type pellet as a staple (sinking in this case) since the waste is minimized with this type of food. This is usually a fish meal base with vitamins etc. added. Any alternative sinking food would make a nice alternative (sinking shrimp pellets?).

Also remember that your bullhead will eat any leftovers that the other tankmates can't find or refuse to eat. So feed the bullhead last.

the problem with it eating the leftovers is that all the cichlid foods i feed float but he is learning to come to the surface and eat the food that the bluegills and cichlids miss. i was just thinking i should feed it a food made for it. do they make catfish pellates
