Food

in my exprience, just trying to see what they would eat, every aro i have had would be easilly attracted to meat (beef herat) in particular, leaner meat.

but i wouldnt suggest it, as its not their natural diet, if it made up say, 5% of their total diet, maybe its ok.
beef has very high protein content but also fat.
its also a different type of protein,
arowanas in the wild get the full spectrum of protein - Plant, fish, reptile, mammal, bird.
all these proteins are derived from the animal they eat and the contents of the aminal's stomach.

so, some beef herat isnt harmful but i wouldnt use it as a staple.
its a good booster for growth, best growth i have found with arowanas is when i feed a mix of pellets and meaty foods like fish and pranwns

also, assuming you will buy only australian or silver/black arowanas as you are from US.
silvers fed with beef i found to start to get a dull off white colouration as well, they dont retain that white brilliant shiny platinum look as theyw ould if you fed prawns, fish and good quality pellets.

just my observation.
stick to tilapia perhaps
