do you think it is okay to get beefheart from the butcher and cube it up yourself and what is a good diet for mid-large rbps?

yes, beefheart from the butcher is fine. But you want to feed your p's beefheart more as a treat than as a regular diet.
As for a steady diet, go pick up some fillets (tilapia, cat fish etc...), raw shrimp, squid, etc... then substitute beefheart everynow and again.-

thats where i get my ''beefheart'', just make sure u trim all the white fat off before u feed it too your P's
We feed our wolves and dogs a raw diet so I always have a good supply of organ and mussle meat available at all time. My black was very fond of chicken...duck and turkey hearts and I alternated an organ meat meal every three days or so and one of market shrimp or raw tuna.
