Fooled by a Convict

2 weeks ago I went to the store to get crickets for our geckos and I see this pure white really beat up little convict cichlid that was housed with a 4" male Auratus african cichlid.
I always wanted a white male convict for my central American cichlid community. They are like a pocket sized Midas.
Bought it and within a week the pure white turned to orange. I guess my dream of a white male Convict lives on.

She does remind me a bit of a Creamsicle Midas at least

Super underrated fish. as singletons they are great, its only when they breed that they become *******s.
I had one when I was a teenager that looked exactly like yours, she paired up with a female Nicaraguensis and they pair kept laying eggs lol.

i totally understand the disappointment but on the other hand ur fish is reallly pretty...so pro and con i know the feeling thinking ur getting 1 thing and ends up bing something else lol very nice looking tho!

Fins are pretty much healed all the way back now. The little punk has attitude.

Yes that is a beauty...i love the white just love it with the peach!!! orange whatever so damn purdy!!
