what is the minimum footoprint of a tank for a full grown silver?

full grown healthy aro can reach almost 48" so they would need a 10' x 4' footprint minimum
ateasst IMO

i agree, not that i wouldn't keep an aro in a 180 (6x2x2) or even 150 (5x2x2) and a lot of people do keep aros in 180s, but to be really fair to the fish you should at the very least give it a width of the fish's maximum length

i agree totally with rottbo as well, however i dun think many aro's get that kinda treatment for the sheer fact that the size n weight of the tank needed is ridiculous and 99% of people dun have the funds or room to keep a tank of that size.. :(

An aro in captivity more than likely wont grow over 3 ft. A 180 is a little tight but could house a large aro IMO. Delgado's near 3 footer seems quite happy to me!
