For a freshwater aquarium what is the best feeder fish for butterfly fish?

i today I purchased a African butterfly fish and an empire gudgeon i am wondering what is the favoured or better feeder fish,
is it shrimp? or mosquito ffish please comment I want to be ready when he arives and keep him healthy and happy

When I had Butterfly fish they loved freez dried Krill, it floated.

Also FD insects like young crickets. Live crickets, too. ABFs will eat any available small fish but are primarily insectivores.

What about flake and freeze dried bloodworms?

If feeding live crickets do you still dust them with vitamins like you do for reps?

Dusting won't do any good since it'll just wash off when the crickets hit the water. In aquaria, a better method of providing additional nutrients to insectivores is by gut-loading the crickets prior to feeding them out. Allow the crickets to feed on high protein vitamin-rich foods just beore feeding them out to your fish.
