I had the pleasure of going to the Getty Museum about a year ago through one of my classes. And just recently remembered I took pictures of it..lol
I would like to share some of the things I like and was able to take pictures of. Please add photos if you have been also!

aww i love art .....i think of myself as an artist lol even though i'm pretty amature. I'm more into paintings as an art form though.

Went up there last year myself. Pretty cool place.

The ancient Greek sculptors are by far more skilled than I am, let alone any modern sculptor in the world. They could get marble statues to stand upright by themselves, no pedestal, no supporting structures, just free standing. No one has ever been able to do that other than the Ancient Greeks. It's a secret that has disappeared along with Greek Fire. The way they carved the cloth and gave it a different texture than skin is amazing too! Looks like they have some really well preserved masterpieces.

Are those carved from Ivory or are they just clay busts? Either way it's some really intricate work - beautiful.
