I thus far have lost my dad's brother's wife to cancer, and my mom's sister to cancer. Both of these ladies were very special people who had a great deal to do with helping raise me while my mom got her education degree and got us out of the welfare state.

Every year for the past 3 years I have been the corporate foodservice provider donating my services to the people that put on the relay for life here in regina. It is an all night event.

Monday, January 18, 2010 is an important day for me. Not only is it my birthday, but it is also the anniversary of the first of what would end up being three surgeries for breast cancer....So Monday is very significant for me...I will officially be a 4-yr cancer survivor!:headbang2

March 2006, two rounds of chemotherapy done. My husband cut my hair short

One last picture to remember, just before he cut my hair

June 2006, feeling well enough to play a round of golf with a visiting friend

My journey through illness taught me that every day is a gift from God. Every day is a great day to be alive.

We celebrate life at every opportunity by doing fun things. This past summer, I finally learned to wake surf. Being old and uncoordinated, it took me nearly the whole summer to learn.

Here's a video with a very funny ending taken Labor Day

My wife has been in remission from Lieukemia for 23 years. My wife's grandfather has been cancer free for 3 years. (prostate) My brothers fiance had a cancer removed from the muscle in her arm. (Don't remember the name of the cancer off the top of my head, but cancer free for 4 years). Wife's grandmother has kidney cancer. She is 76 and is in no pain so the Dr.'s decided not to do any treatment. She feels good and still enjoy's life. My grandfather was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Like my wifes's grandmother, no treatment is being done because of age and overall feeling pretty well.

My great grandmother passed away from liver cancer about 13 years ago. Caught very late and nothing could be done. My dad's sister, father, mother and 2 brothers all died from some sort of lung cancer. All due to decades of heavy smoking. A good friend of mine at work was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in May of '06. He passed away in August, just 3 months later.

thought I would bump this because the vid is so great and the subject as well
