could i house a silver aro in a 5x2x2 tank? 125 gal. im going to be picking one here in the next few days.

is this the right dimensions for a 125 gal?

ooops. i guess i forgot to add those. i'm hoping to find him about 1-2 inches. but probably between 4-5 inches. since these days no one stocks them that young.

You are looking around an inch of growth a month up to around 18ish inches. After that he will slow down a bit.

If you have the funds to get a 6X2X2 it would last a lot longer and save you money in the end.

an inch a month? more like 2-3" a month til it hits 18. which it will within 1 year. and it could stay in that 5x2x2 for atleast 2-3 years maybe more. the 2x2 footprint is awesome. i kept a silver in a 6x18widex2tall for almost 4 years.

Mine was from egg sack and grew about an inch a month till about six inches. Then he was able to eat a lot more and start to grow about 2 inches a month. Depends on tank size, water conditions, diet and your individual arowana. What they said about going straight to a 180 IS a REALLY good idea. Will save you money in the long run. I always say if your gunna go big, do just that....GO BIG!
