Figured I would post one long puke on everyone thread of all the castexi type rays I have owned or bred. I love this species of rays and have tons of pictures of them but will only post ones that have been through my tanks. Some may be the same ray that has developed and changed. Enjoy and feel free to post ones you have had or own currently.

I dont understand much about these rays - are they very rare?
They get quite large don't they? larger than other rays i mean.
Thanks for sharing the pics, good to see something different.

They aren't Castexi...... You need to get your proper terminology in place. Everyone knows those are "Falkneri" and they get 4' across.........

:banhim:

Regardless of the stupid names, you and I know what they are, and it's very obvious you've done an outstanding job of raising the population of these beautiful rays.

Makes me want to send you Marbles just to see what you can do with them..... I have a few males here that would go well with your lady Marbles.... ;)

Ran across this today, says they are also called a Vermiculate River Ray. They are on the Red list but not much is known about them. This was from 2009. I know of a type of this ray that has reached 30" and another that got to 24". My breeding pair of jags are 13" and 18" and are probably 6-7 years old.

I know, I figured I would get blasted for using the word Castexi. I do not have a PhD so I cannot answer from a scientific stand point and have books that call them castexi so until I see book published that calls them falkneri I am just going to keep calling them Castexi (:

If you remember I have had my fair share of drama, only thing keeping me sane and happy is the fact that I just leave them alone and have stopped bringing new ones in and stopped trading off.

They are all beauties. I was going to suggest you get some falkneri.
