I think i have made up my mind of what i want to put in my 55 gal aquarium. I have been doing a lot of fish searching and i came across freshwater barracudas.:drool::drool:. So far i have found different sites with information on them and tank size needed which has gotten me a little confused because it varies a lot.

http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/fish/hujeta.php says they get to 28 inches. :(

http://animal-world.com/encyclo/fresh/characins/RedTailBarracuda.php red tail barracuda , getting 11 inches and says 50 gallons min.

http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=830+836+1110&pcatid=1110 says 70 gallons min. :irked:

they get about 1 foot. Depending on your stockl list id say atleast 75. if nothing much else a 55 could do.

Nope. I would check any Local Fish Shops (they may be able to order for you), if not you can easily buy one online, but have to pay for shipping.
:iagree:

make sure u actually ask a worker to order it for u(not just look at what they have in their tanks)

I wouldn't do it. Standard 55 tanks are relatively tall and wide but not so hot on depth. Not bashing you, just one mans opinion.:)

??

you mean relatively tall and long but not so hot on width.

Yep, that's what I meant, thanks.

Standard 55g
48 1/4" length X 12 3/4" width X 21" height

The width (which is what I should have said) is what I was concerned about.
