hey everyone i have a 55 gallon fish tank with 3 convicts 2 small albino oscars and a jack dempsy which is about 7 inches long he will not com out of his hiding spot even to eat. he is still alive, but i can't get him to come out of his hiding spot. before i had him my friend had it in an 80 gallon with a red devil that picked on him quite a bit. does anyone know if my fish will come around? please let me know

your jack dempsey is just getting beat up by the other fish. they aren't that tough at all. if you remove the other fish and give him/her a mate, he will brighten right up and he won't hide like he does now. oh, and by removing the other fish you won't have to worry about upgrading to a 180 gallon tank later on. good luck with the jack
