has anyone been to the capitol aquarium. if so i wondering if they sell fish or is it just displays. i saw a video on youtube of it and now i really want to go.
 
yea they sell a ton of fish, great variety but not the best quality. every time i go there i'm amazed by the selection and some neat little fish i've always wanted to see but then i see tanks full of dying neons or some other fish or a really filthy tank full of fish, QT any fish you get from there. they're only good display is the really tall(has to be about 5~6' deep) tank that has a ton of fish in it, some look cool and some not so much and i always think it needs a WC when i see it.
 
if i went there it would take a few days cuz i would rather drive than fly. and if i did buy fish from there they would probably die before i got home. the only reason i would go is to see all the fish.
 
apparently exotic aquarium is the largest in california. if you're going to make a trip to see fish then go to the georgia aquarium, i can almost gurantee that you'll be dissapointed if you drive that far just to see a fish store.
 
im in modesto and i took a trip to visit both capitol and exotic. i have to say that i like exotic better. so many aisles of tanks i got lost in there! and they have way more aquarium equipment. they are both within minutes of each other so visit both!!
 
capitol doesn't take care of their tanks very well..........they have a good variety of fish, but QT is a must (I live 2 blocks from it)........They carry some of the worst quality discus I've seen.........JoJos is good for rare stuff, Exotic is huge and has good plants, tanks, and every med and accessory you could want. Nothing I'd drive more that a few hours for though...........
