Do tankmates have any effect on your plueros coloration?

If so please elaborate how? Do they color up better WITH or WITHOUT tankmates?

Does it even matter? Is it all genetic? Based on stress levels?

Very interesting topic. My cousin used to have some that what would color up depending on the mood in the tank. Food had something to do with their coloration as well.:D

Not really noticed any changing of colour's with mine, there in a community envoiroment,

Anybody else?

Not certain for sure, but I would probably say that tankmates can possibly be a factor in their colorazation. But what do I know... think I read somewhere on the net?? :uhoh:

^ LOL ^

Before i aquired my pluero`s i read that tanksmates, water ph and water quality supposedly affect their coloration.
If the PH parts true i should have seen something when i moved mine from QT to my main tank, as that tank is buffered by a newly constructed DIY background.
I can`t see any diffrence, but then again they are still juvi`s.

What ph do you keep yours at?

Dont have any exact values from my tank, as i dont have a test kit for Ph.
But i know that our tap water is 7.6 Ph.
