i would like to know the diffrence between young lents with heavy black barring on there backs and , and young lents with almost no barring but with flowers on there backs, thanks for any info.

I have never kept Lents due to the size they achieve, but if i had to guess i would say locality would probably have a lot to do with it.

Your wisdom knows no bounds. :nilly:

Crenicichla lenticulata and Crenicichla marmorata are some of the most variant riddled pikes available. Each variant seems to have its own unique coloration/pattern. Which is why its important to try and keep the different variants seperate from each other, just in case they should pair up. Keep the variants as pure as possible. :)

The Rio Atabapo lents do have more spotting and spangling than most other lents we've seen lately. The Rio Negro lents har thicker barring and less spots. Both are amazing fish, with unique coloration. :)

Perhaps thats what makes them so freaking awesome?

Your wisdom pwns! You need to make a Marm/Lent I.D. thread.

Ha, something. There are plenty on here that school me. :nilly:

That would be crazy trying to do a thread like that. You know how many different variants there are? And how similar they are as juv. You'd have to do juv., subadult, and adult ID thread for the same fish. You'd have to know the exact locality so there could be no screw ups or anything. Headache I tell ya! LoL!

Just easier to play it as they come. ;) Some variants are easier to tell apart than others thats for sure. ;)

Bad arse as always Mark!! Leave it to Calumma to whip something awesome like that up!! LoL!!

You think it would be alright to bring the pictures here, tidy them up and organize them, then make a sticky? That would be awesome!!

Btw...was gonna ask you how your 'lents' were doing. They still coloring up? Leaning more towards strigata complex still?
