I will make it as short as possible and it goes like this..........
After school today I realized that I didnt have to go to work, so I raced to Home Depoit and rented a truck. I rented a truck so I could go pick up a 150 gallon tank that I had previewsly brought from T&T Fish and Reptails and I did. The guy there helped me set on my truck and I was so excited to get home and after a few minutes on the hway I got home, turn the truck to home Depoit and went back to get some corals and an Arowana.
When I got home I kept calling my lil bro who for some strange reason is a bit bigger than me (sizewise), and as we both lean to pick up the tank to set it on the stand, I heard and felt my back cracked. I stopped and tooke a deep breath, mean while my lil bro is almost like laughting at me cause we couldnt both pick up a tank. So I decided to pickit up with is help from another angle and as soon as I took two steps to the right my back cracked again this time I yellewed at him to slowly place the tank down. well it didnt quite happened that way, the tank went down fast and in a split second my bro grabbed the best he could and so did I. I stood there watching it slip out of our hands and it landed on my right big toe and I didnt feel a thing. Knowing that my toe was broking I didnt move, instead I was worried looking around to see the demage the tank got. well I m glad to say that the tank didnt suffer a single scratch or nor it broke, however to have my toe crushed for more than three minutes and trying to lift it till more help arrived was a scene that I wont forget for a lil while. My whole feet is swollen 3 times the size of my other left foot and there is still qs I gotta find the answers to......... How m I gonna go to work 2morow and how m I going to take my 1 exam if I cant even move?

ahhhhhthe sacrifices f0r our addiction....hope you feel better soon.

it will all be worth it once you get your tank setup!!!

quick sombody get him an ambulance and a oddance(now extra people, that is embrassing...LOl..)

moral of story? wear steel toes when lifting heavy tanks! lol.

Sorry you got hurt, I can understand being excited but you know you should always get as much help as possible, I hope your back is alright too, I wish you a quick recovery, Could this attempted feat of strength be Oddball's influence? Hopefully things will be ok and this will all just be a funny story!

all i have to say is.....Where u gona even cycle the tank before puttin the aro in!?!?!?! jk sorry to hear about that man atleast the tanks good! :D

Howdy,

Sorry to hear you got hurt and wish you a speedy recovery (and good luck on that exam).

I want to add, though, that patience is a true virtue in our hobby. Rushing things causes more harm than it does good. Not only to you, but also to your equipment and fish. Thoroughly plan everything, get extra friends to help, and take your time the next time around. You'll be much more relaxed and feel much better about yourself, your accomplishments, and the hobby.

Good luck,
HarleyK

Thank you guys..you rock. and yes I shouldnt have rushed or even should think about cycling the tank first. But I dont know I never have had a tank that size before in which I had purchase with my own money, and ofcourse the aro was cheaper than I usually see them selling for.
I m waiting to go to the doctor right now and I m haappy that the tank is very ok, but I m still scared about work. I dont want them to fire me, cause if they do I wont have anyway of paying for a ehem for my tank or even for my college, in which in this case is much more important than any hobby I have.

Dont worrie picts of my tank will be posted soon(I wanna bragg)
