The owner should know how to provide for the dog, based off the species. Its alot of work but the owner has decided to take the dog under its wing. Every time the dog makes a behavior/agression mistake correct him. Yes its alot of work. Have any of you seen Dog Whisperer? Every time the dog makes a mistake he corrects the dog. Sometimes you dont even know when the dog is showing aggression or dominance but that is the owners responsibility to learn about that species of dog. It all comes down to the owner. The owner should know how to take of his her dog EXACTLY.
speaking of pitts, i have 3 adorable pups that need a loving home to go to. its been my mission all summer long to find good homes for these pups. started wit a liter of 11 3 to go. if u folks know anyone that is willing to take pitts as pets , keep me in mind. all pups are up todate with shots . their bloodline comes from floyd beaudreaux.
Hello; I ride my bicycle along the highway that runs in front of my home. On a hill about two miles into my rides is a trailer with what looks like a pitbull tied to a tree in the yard. I can tell when the owners are gone as the dog will simply glance at me and then ignore me as i ride by. If they are home it barks and strains at the cable as if it intends to chew me up (The owners have some times been in the yard when this happens.) The cable has so far held.
Should the cable break I will not have the speed to get away from it on the hill. I now carry a pistol on my rides as a just in case. Should an incident occur how will being able to blame the owners after the fact be of any use to me?
They were flat out bred to FIGHT OTHER DOGS. You can like or dislike it, but that is the fact.
To each his/ her own. That is what the dog was "designed" for, nothing else. Yes, it is possible to attempt to "train" nature out of an animal. For cripes sake, you have lions, tigers and bears standing on stools in a circus. WHATEVER!

Better yet, ENTERTAINMENT: Lock them in a cage with these lovable creatures that mauled their piece of poop human child. Kill two birds with one stone. Rid the world of oxygen wasting bi-peddle locamotives and feed these wonderful loving gentle creatures at the same time.
No on second thought bad idea. These creeps are probably experienced enough with the breed to understand how their jaws work. Outrageous crushing power on the downbite, and a child could hold thei closed mouths shut with two fingers. Not very effective against and adult Human being who "understands" the animal!

If a pitt was designed for fighting and nothing else why dont they all fight? Why are most so loveable? My pit has been bitten by lil dogs twice at the dogpark, she must of missed the memo on fighting. She never bit back once. She still has the scar from the lil yappy dog. Maybe we designed them poorly. See my pittbull has been bred to be a family dog. Not to fight, I guess my breeders missed your memo. I suggest you send them a registered piece of mail so they get your memo. We will get this straightened out. So are other dogs bred to do only one thing as well? Are they destined for that one thing? You should let them know if you have the time.

yes we all know that pits were bred for bull baiting and sometimes dog fighting, but this was decades ago, and when it comes to dogs it does not take long to breed these traits out, yet it is easy to do the opposite, look at boxers, they were once known as blood thirsty dogs, now they are one of the top family dogs
so no matter what there will be bloodlines that support good natured genes and the opposite
so it is not ok to label a breed as one thing, my mother was a letter carrier for 15 years and she had been bitten 3 times two were labs/retrievers and one was a beagle
I have been bitten by two ****zhus but never had a mollosser breed
but every dog is different and has the potential to do damage, its no different from any other animal on this planet
so no matter what there will be bloodlines that support good natured genes and the opposite

I've read through all these pages and you are not open minded what so ever why not carry your pistol to a damn cat park cause a dog might attack you there. Again owners fault they should make the commitment of training there dogs better and not be lazy. And a "glance"? Really? How do you know it was in an aggression state? The owners just watched as the dog tried to attack you, right? The owners should jump on that action the dog made immediately. Have you actually even seen a well trained dog or a PitBull none the less?
I guess haters gunna hate. I used to think pitbulls and even some other dogs where only good for fighting. I was told this by media and stupid family members. After actually researching about these dogs , well all I can say my mind set changed in about a week. You guys would just be happy if all the dogs vanished on this earth. when your stuck under an ice sheet of snow, a collapsed building or going on a plane with a bomb who's going to know first? THE OWNERS FIGHT THE DOGS. not dogs fight dogs.
