For those who feed with SMELT....

Do you take out the eggs while cleaning and cutting the fish ?

If you do, what do you feed the eggs to ?

If not, have you notice any effect of having a lot of eggs all over the tank/filter and etc ? I am jist worry about ammonia spike.

I fed my fish in the grow out tank and there were a lot of eggs on the bottom. My plecos were busy, but there's only so much that they can consume. Some actually was suck on by the FX5 and Eheim.

I get the smelt specifically for the eggs. I put them in a container and freeze them.

whole but i cut them up to appropriate sizes for the fish... smelt row is a great food... never had a fish that didnt go crazy for it
