Wow, I really couldn't listen (watch) the whole thing that song just kills me. Always has , then adding the bagpipes!!!
Very moving and very touching...just a little too moving for me at the moment!

;)

ya its crazy how music can affect you. i dont know how many good songs i listen to in iraq that i cant listen to any more bc it brings up bad memorys or good time with some of my buddys. music is a crazy thing

My series Commander in boot played the bagpipes, you could hear him practicing when the planes werent landing. On the USMC birthday 1995 he play the Marines Hymn for about 60+ broke d ick recruits. Those that could stood POA, some of us did our best in crutches, the rest where in wheelchairs, we all sang with heart.

When he was done, he put his pipes down and told us all, with feeling, that was the best rendition of the Marines Hymn he had heard and saluted us. I dont know if he did that for every series of recruits at that time of year but it meant alot to me. Our DIs also seemed moved.

yeah this isn;t for just USMC it's for anyone in the armed forces, reserves, nat'l guard, etc... all servicemen...

i just wrote USMC cause we were talking about it at the time...

great story.. i did a solo rendition of danny boy at a retirement home in chorus, and two vets stood and saluted at the end, idk if it was cause they're vets and DB has some special meaning or if it's just cause it reminded them of someone lost, but yes... music can move mountains...

i KNOW it wasn't cause im a good singer or anything :D
